Discover San Miguel
The Spanish missionaries chose this area just North of Paso Robles in 1797 to build a mission to fill in the gap between Mission San Antonio and Mission San Luis Obispo. In addition to the mission, the missionaries also built a series of huts for the local Salinan Indians that would eventually morph into the town of San Miguel.
In addition to Mission San Miguel, Camp Roberts Military Base is just the North. While still an active military training facility, Camp Roberts also features a Military Museum which houses exhibits from various wars, vintage and model vehicle exhibits, stage shows and radio broadcasts.
San Miguel is part of the San Miguel Joint Unified School District features 1 elementary school, and 2 K-8 schools.
